Dr. Carolyn Welty is a specialist in the medical care of older adults. She has expertise in all aspects of geriatric care, including memory loss, depression, failure to thrive, weight loss, falls and difficulty walking.
Welty earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. She completed a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at the University of California, Davis Medical Center; a fellowship in epidemiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School; and a fellowship in critical care medicine at Carney Hospital, an affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition, she has a master's degree in epidemiology from Harvard Medical School.
Before joining UCSF, Welty was on the staff of the Cleveland Clinic and Kettering Medical Center. She previously was a clinical associate professor at Wright State University and an assistant professor at Boston University School of Medicine.
