Dr. Jessica B. Rubin is a hepatologist and gastroenterologist who specializes in caring for patients with liver diseases, including those awaiting liver transplantation.

Rubin's research lies at the intersection of pain management and chronic liver disease. In particular, she hopes to identify safe and effective pain control strategies that will improve outcomes and quality of life for liver patients with pain. She also studies gender disparities in patients with liver disease, including in those awaiting liver transplants.

Rubin earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University and her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College. She then earned a master of public health degree, with a focus in health care management, from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. At UCSF, she completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowships in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.

Rubin is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Transplantation and Northern California Society for Clinical Gastroenterology.

In her free time, Rubin enjoys rooting for her hometown St. Louis Cardinals, traveling and spending time with her daughter.

    Dr Ruben is an excellent practitioner and has great communication skills. I'm just sorry she is stretched for time due to shortages of staff and specialists. I am thankful I have her to care for my special needs.
